Bath County Parks and Recreation are interested in getting community input about what you feel would be the best fit for you and your child for the softball and baseball season. We understand that 1 option will not be the best fit for everyone, but we would like to do what’s best for the majority.

(T-Ball is played in Bath County only with Valley and Millboro teams)

OPTION 1: West Augusta League: This is the League that we are currently in. League ages for baseball: Rookie (7-8), Minor (9-10), Major (11-12). League ages for softball: 8U (6-8), 10U (9-10), 12U (11-12), 14U (13-14). In this League, we can offer Bath County teams, practice on our fields, and have half of the games on our fields. For away games, you could travel to Craigsville, Staunton, Stuarts Draft, Fishersville, Crimora, New Hope, etc... Games can be scheduled during the week and on weekends. We must have our teams registered before the end of February.

OPTION 2: Alleghany Highlands Youth Sports Program. This is the league that is played in Covington. League ages for baseball and softball: Minor B- Coaches Pitch- (5-7), Minor A (8-10), Major (11-14). Bath can have our own Minor B team and practice on our own fields. Ages 8-14 must go into their draft and be placed on different teams. All practices and games are held in Covington. All games are played during the week, no weekend games. This league needs to have kids/ teams signed up before February 18th. Their drafts start March 4.

OPTION 3: Bath would offer the option for Bath County teams to form that would practice on our own fields during the week. Due to the number of kids that normally sign up to play, we most likely would only have 1 team in each age group. The primary focus is on practicing and learning the skills that are needed before getting into high school. We would try to contact Clubs and other Parks and Recreations to schedule scrimmages with on Saturdays.  Some would be held on home fields and others would be away.  You could travel to places like Craigsville, Botetourt, Clifton Forge and others.

OPTION 4: Clifton Forge Little League. Bath County can have their own teams that practice on our own fields. Games can happen during the week (no Wednesdays) and on Saturdays. For games, some would be on our home fields and some in Clifton Forge. We would also have the option to play in Botetourt, Lewisburg, Eagle Rock and other locations. Their league ages are the same as the West Augusta League.

OPTION 5: You, as a parent/ guardian, you have the option to put your child in either league that suits your family best. If we do not have a team to put in West Augusta league, and that is closest to you, they will allow your child to be placed on a team that is already established in their league.  The Covington league allows any child from any area to sign up for their program. Clifton Forge Little League will also accept your child into their league, if that is the best fit for you. IF we offer OPTION 3, and you choose to play in another league, your child is still welcome to be a part of our organization.
