The County Administrator is appointed by the Board of Supervisors to manage and coordinate the overall day-to-day operations and activities of the County government.

The County Administrator also serves as the chief advisor to the Board and conducts County business in accordance with Board policy. Duties include executing all policies established by the Board or mandated by the State, preparing and administering the budget, and supervising the function of County departments.

The County Administrator also has primary responsibility for personnel administration, including hiring and removal of staff, staff organization, employee performance, review of proposed personnel actions, and interpretation of personnel policies.

The Deputy County Administrator performs the duties of the County Administrator in their absence and assists the County Administrator with budget development and long-range strategic plans for the county.

Oversees human resources functions, including employee relations, compliance with labor laws, and managing payroll and benefits

Prepares and maintains Board of Supervisors' meeting agenda and back-up information; attends Board of Supervisors' meetings; records meetings, takes and transcribes minutes; conducts research on related topics as directed.

Develops and coordinates placement of legal notices for public hearings and meetings.

Maintains personnel records and databases; tracks access to personnel records.

Maintains records of board and commission appointments.

Serves as the FOIA Officer for the County.


Janice O'Reilly Deem, Administrative Support Specialist

The Administrative Support Specialist is responsible for clerical duties within the County Administrator's Office, serving as receptionist, filing, accounts payable, records management and retention, solid waste billing and purchasing duties. The Administrative Support Specialist is also responsible for maintaining the County website. Please contact Ms. Deem for recommendations on website changes.

The Bath County Administrator's Office offers free notary services to Bath County Residents.
